Key Safety Findings
Nastia AI calls itself an "unfiltered, uncensored AI companion" offering emotional support, mental wellness coaching, and explicit roleplay in one product. It's a Progressive Web App run by a single developer in French Guiana, France. No native mobile app. The safety findings reflect that gap between what's promised and what's actually built.
The privacy policy was last updated in January 2023, over three years ago. It predates nearly every major AI regulation and says nothing about AI, machine learning, model training, or how conversation data gets handled. For a platform that exists to have AI conversations, that's a glaring hole. The policy does disclose collection of sensitive personal data, including information about users' sex lives, sexual orientation, political opinions, and religious beliefs. It also says Nastia delivers "personalized content and advertising tailored to your interests."
Here's where it gets contradictory. The CCPA section of that same privacy policy states: "Nastia has not disclosed, sold, or shared any personal information to third parties for a business or commercial purpose." But an independent privacy scan of nastia.ai found active Facebook Pixel and Google Analytics with remarketing audiences on the site. Facebook Pixel sends visitor data to Facebook. Google Analytics remarketing tracks users for ad targeting across the web. So which is it?
Age verification is the gap that worries us most. The Terms of Service say users must be 18+, but there's no technical enforcement. No ID check. No age estimation. No parental controls. Meanwhile, the platform gives unrestricted access to erotic roleplay and explicit AI-generated images. A 2257 compliance page on the site confirms Nastia produces sexually explicit visual content. It claims exemption from federal record-keeping because the images are AI-generated, not photographs of real people. On a platform with this content profile, a written age rule isn't verification.
Crisis response doesn't exist. Nastia markets "mental wellness coaching" alongside its explicit content, but we found no suicide prevention features, no crisis helpline integration, no response protocols, and no mental health resources anywhere on the site. The homepage FAQ says "Nastia AI is completely safe" and mentions "industry-standard encryption" without explaining what either claim actually means.
The Terms of Service grant Nastia Cybernetics an "unrestricted, unlimited, irrevocable, perpetual" license to user contributions, including voice and image, for "any purpose, commercial, advertising, or otherwise." Users waive all moral rights. The company can terminate any account "for any reason or for no reason" without notice. Want to report harmful content? Your only option is emailing the solo developer.
Trustpilot reviews tell a rough billing story. Multiple independent reviewers describe the same pattern: charges that quadrupled after signup, trial memberships that silently converted to full-price subscriptions (one reviewer blamed "a convenient screen freeze"), and premium plans that still cap daily tokens. Out of 12 Trustpilot reviews, 58% are one-star. On Reddit, even users who like the conversation quality call the platform "underbaked and overpriced."
Nastia AI's highest dimension score is User Control at 2.3 out of 5, based on Reddit mentions of memory and personality customization features. That's still well below average. None of the six dimensions clears 2.5.
How We Scored This
We scored Nastia AI using 11 evidence sources collected in April 2026:
- Privacy policy and Terms of Service from nastia.ai, plus the 2257 compliance statement and about page (primary legal and platform documents)
- Independent privacy audit via automated web tracker scan, which found Facebook Pixel and Google Analytics with remarketing audiences active on the site
- Breach monitoring through Have I Been Pwned, which returned no known breaches for nastia.ai
- User reviews and community feedback from Trustpilot (12 reviews, 2.5/5 average) and the r/nastia subreddit, including a detailed 2,000-word user review with a nine-month follow-up
- Independent review coverage from tech review sites covering features, safety claims, and pricing
- iOS App Store investigation that uncovered an impersonator app (developer "Numan Durrani," rated 1.2/5), confirming the real Nastia AI has no legitimate app store presence
The F grade (18/100) came down to one automatic-F trigger and three independent grade caps. Crisis response scored 1 out of 5, and that alone forces an F regardless of everything else. The platform markets mental wellness coaching but has zero documented crisis protocols. Three more sub-dimensions each hit the scoring floor and capped the grade on their own: sexual content guardrails (explicit content with no restrictions), age verification (text-only 18+ rule on a platform built around adult content), and minor-specific safeguards (no parental controls, no teen defaults, no time limits). The highest dimension? User Control at 2.3, based on user-reported memory and customization features.
